Aug 10, 2008. Old 8mm movie camera in my collection. Straight from camera, no PP.

This officially marks 1 full week of dailies for me!

Thank you one and all who have left so many kind words and helpful comments. My friend Micalngelo was right, this is a great community! Glad to be part of it!

Aug 11, 2008. Sent on assignment tonight to photograph a local school board meeting.

This girl (center, in white) received an award for perfect attendance from kindergarten all the way through to her high school graduation. Seriously!

When asked how she did it, she said she managed to only get sick during summer vacations!

Aug 6, '08. Did headshots in the studio today for this young & talented actress. Her name is Mallory. I hope she lands lots of leading roles!

Aug 4, 2008. Two days in a row-- this is a record for me :-) . I call this one: "Simple Thistle". Say it three times real fast.

Aug 8, '08. Almost didn't get in a photo today because Friday night is Fiesta night. But managed to get one of our steaks on the BBQ. They were delicious!

Aug 9 '08. Joe Bravo (right) is an artist who uses tortillas as his canvas. No kidding! It's called "Tortilla Art".

The native Mexican dress (center) and head ornament are done completely with tortillas and corn husks. In the background you can see some of the paintings done on tortillas.

That's my brother Larry on the left. We attended the artist's reception at The Mexican Cultural Institute of Los Angeles today.

On assignment again today, this time covering an event at the Nadadores swimming & diving facility here in Mission Viejo, CA.

We proudly boast that the great Olympic gold medal diver Greg Louganis is from Mission Viejo, CA. and trained here at the Nadadores facility.

Aug 3, 2008. Been beating myself up for not having stuck with the "daily photo" thing-- thought of just abandoning it altogether. So to give it another try, here is just a simple shot from my backyard.

Aug 5th, '08. Waiting for a friend at Starbucks, I got bored and shot this, it was on their shelves for sale. Sorry about the finger print smudges on the metal. Didn't see those when I clicked away.

$"Refraction Brewery". Water drops placed in net with eye dropper. One beer (Heineken) positioned behind net appears as many beers (upside down) when refracted in each water drop. Voila- instant beer! Two studio lights used. Original image flipped upside down so that the beers inside the water drops appear here as right-side up in each drop.$
